Xscape - Unchained [Unreleased, 2005]

Partial collection of songs taken from platinum-selling female R&B quartet Xscape’s shelved fourth album “Unchained” (2005). The project spawned only one single (“What’s Up (Wassup)”) which generated noise in the Atlanta scene, especially after it was previewed on group member Tiny’s then-fiancé T.I.’s debut drama flick “ATL” (2006).

Sadly, with no actual promotion beyond the film’s score, “Wassup” alone could not make buzz outside the Georgian market, resulting in a postponement for “Unchained”.

Making matters worse was the public’s mild disfavor of founding one-fourth vocalist Kandi being absent from the lineup and was instead replaced by aspiring musician Kiesha “Babi” Miles. Although promo art and select opening concert venues were developed as artistic campaigns for the collective’s effort, “Unchained” faced the cancellation curse due to internal conflicts within the group alongside disruption brought on by Tiny’s focus on repairing personal romantic partnership with rapper T.I.

Track-listing is as follows:

1.) What’s Up (Wassup)

2.) So in Love

3.) Miss U

4.) Call the Police

5.) The One

6.) Best of You
