The passion in collecting rare media dates all the way back to 2007 when a teenage me surfed the archives of now-defunct streaming site "imeem" in curating playlists that hosted rare unreleased content by my favorite producers/artists (Missy Elliott & Timbaland) and any musician that had the slightest affiliation with them. From there, I went down a rabbit hole in exploring all forms of shelved or obscure rarities - leading to the creation of three YouTube channels over the course of 15 years (remnzt6, Remnzt6Reloaded, Unreleased/Underrated R&B Grooves) that were all sadly deleted due to copyright issues or personal problems stemming mental exhaustion.

 

Presently, I created this site to keep the journey going in not only sharing with a curious audience but additionally preserving these important emblems of  hidden musical history as the never-ending growth of the internet is making it much harder for younger generations to be exposed to these lost voices and their underrated works. "Obscure Sounds" is a personal hobby site and by no means is it trying to be profitable or attempting to infringe copyright or cause further issues with the appropriate owner of the material.
