Caddillac Tah - Pov City Hustla [Unreleased, 2003]

Full collection of known songs taken from Murda Inc. signee and severely underrated rap artist Caddillac Tah’s unreleased debut album “Pov City Hustla” (2003).
Production for the album originally began as early as 2000, shortly after Tah’s debut feature on his home label’s compilation set “The Murderers” (2000). With the addition of hopping on his crossover label mate Ja Rule’s remix of “Holla, Holla” hit, Tah readied his own hit-worthy number – the gritty-themed “Pov City Anthem”.
Released in 2001 in conjunction with radio-friendly tune “Just Like a Thug” (featuring guest vocals by then-unknown Ashanti), “Anthem” gained enough support and hype from the masses that it went on to be featured on the original motion picture soundtrack to action flick “Fast and Furious” (2001), starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Ja Rule.
Compounded with a mid-budget music video which aired moderately on BET programs, Tah readied the single’s follow-up “It’s Caddillac” which made a small feature as the opening tune in labelmate Ashanti’s solo debut music video “Foolish” (2002). Thereafter, Tah hopped on the official remix to Jennifer Lopez’s hit “Ain’t It Funny” (2002) alongside guest appearing on his home label’s second compilation “Irv Gotti presents The Inc.” (2002).
Following the features, Caddillac released the final single off the album, the R&B-heavy ride or die gem “I Got’cha Ma”, featuring guest vocals by Murda Inc. affiliate and Vh1’s “Love and Hip-Hop” cast-member Althea Heart.
Despite a music video aiding its release alongside further buzz cuts circulating on mixtapes and various compilations, “Pov City Hustla” was frustratingly shelved all in the midst of Murda Inc.’s dispute with G-Unit coupled with Inc. CEO Irv Gotti mishandling funds for the rollouts of pending projects geared for late 2003, which included the shelving of not only Tah’s debut but additionally labelmates Vita (“La Dolce Vita”), Charli Baltimore (“The Diary (You Think You Know)”) and Black Child (“Ghetto Gospel”).
